Our Assistive Technology Assessments are designed to support individuals who:
- Post-Injury Rehabilitation: We help individuals recovering from injuries, such as fractures, sprains, or surgeries, gradually return to their job tasks with minimal risk of re-injury.
- Managing Chronic Conditions: For individuals with chronic conditions such as arthritis, back pain, or repetitive strain injuries, we provide strategies to manage symptoms while performing work duties.
- Cognitive Rehabilitation: For those returning to work after a brain injury, stroke, or neurological condition, we support cognitive recovery and provide strategies to manage attention, memory, and decision-making challenges.
- Mental Health Support: We offer emotional support and strategies to manage stress, anxiety, or other mental health conditions that may affect your ability to return to work with confidence.
- Workplace Modifications: We assess your work environment and recommend modifications or adaptive equipment to ensure that your workplace is safe, comfortable, and conducive to your recovery.
- Gradual Return-to-Work Plans: We create phased return-to-work schedules that allow you to gradually increase your hours and responsibilities, ensuring that you can cope with the demands of your job without overexerting yourself.
What’s Involved in a Return to Work Program?
Our Return-to-Work Programs are tailored to meet the unique needs of each individual and their workplace. The process typically includes:
- Initial Consultation and Assessment: We begin by assessing your current physical, cognitive, and emotional abilities, as well as any specific challenges you may face in returning to work. This helps us understand your needs and develop a personalised plan.
- Workplace Assessment: We assess your work environment, including your workstation, job duties, and any potential barriers to returning safely. If necessary, we recommend workplace modifications, ergonomic adjustments, or adaptive equipment.
- Personalised Return-to-Work Plan: Based on the assessment, we create a tailored plan that outlines your gradual return to work. This may include a phased schedule, specific work tasks, and any rehabilitation or therapy needed to support your recovery.
- Ongoing Therapy and Rehabilitation: As part of the Return-to-Work Program, we provide ongoing therapy sessions to help you improve your physical or cognitive abilities, manage pain, and enhance your capacity to perform job tasks safely.
- Employer Collaboration: We work closely with your employer to ensure that your return to work is coordinated and supportive, providing recommendations for accommodations and ensuring that everyone involved understands your recovery goals.
- Regular Monitoring and Adjustments: We continuously monitor your progress and adjust your return-to-work plan as needed, ensuring that you are able to meet your work demands while maintaining your health and well-being.
