How Our Paediatric Occupational Therapy Services Can Help

Our Paediatric Occupational Therapy services are designed to make a positive difference in your child's life. We address a broad range of needs, including:

  • Fine and Gross Motor Skills: We help children improve their coordination, balance, strength, and dexterity, which are essential for tasks such as handwriting, dressing, and playing sports.

  • Sensory Processing: For children who experience sensory sensitivities or difficulties processing sensory information, we provide sensory integration therapy to help them better understand and respond to their environment.

  • Emotional Regulation and Behaviour: We offer strategies to help children manage their emotions, reduce anxiety, and improve self-regulation, supporting better behaviour at home and school.

  • Social Skills Development: We work with children to develop communication, cooperation, and interaction skills, helping them build positive relationships with peers and family members.

  • Self-Care and Independence: Our therapy supports children in becoming more independent with daily tasks such as dressing, feeding, and toileting, promoting confidence and autonomy.

  • Developmental Delays: We provide targeted therapy for children with developmental delays, ensuring they receive the support they need to meet developmental milestones.

Our Paediatric Occupational Therapy Process

Our paediatric services are tailored to each child’s specific needs, using fun and engaging activities to encourage participation and learning. The process typically includes:

  • Initial Consultation and Assessment: We begin with a detailed assessment of your child’s abilities, challenges, and goals. This may involve observations, interviews with parents or teachers, and developmental screening tools.

  • Goal Setting: Together with the family, we set achievable goals for therapy, whether it's improving handwriting, managing sensory sensitivities, or fostering emotional regulation.

  • Personalised Therapy Plan: Based on the assessment, we develop a therapy plan that is tailored to your child’s unique strengths and challenges. Our sessions are play-based, making therapy fun and engaging for children.

  • One-on-One Therapy Sessions: Our Occupational Therapist provides regular therapy sessions that focus on developing the skills your child needs to thrive. We use a combination of hands-on activities, sensory play, and movement exercises to help your child build confidence and make progress.

  • Family and Teacher Support: We provide parents and teachers with strategies and tools to support the child’s progress outside of therapy sessions, ensuring consistency across all environments.

  • Ongoing Monitoring and Adjustments: We regularly monitor your child’s progress and adjust the therapy plan as needed to ensure they continue making gains toward their goals.
